Tale of the Tape for Renato Moicano vs. Rafael Fiziev

In a lightweight bout on the main card of UFC 256, Renato Moicano will fight Rafael Fiziev Saturday in Las Vegas and available on ESPN+. This contest was originally scheduled for Nov. 28, but Moicano dropped out because he tested positive for COVID-19.

The 31-year-old Moicano walks into the octagon with a professional fighting record of 14-3 (1 NC). This is Moicano’s second fight in 2020, with his first bout happening in March. At UFC Fight Night 170, Moicano defeated Damir Hadzovic in Round 1 using a rear-naked choke.

The Brazilian mixed martial artist lands 5.49 strikes per minute with 46 percent accuracy. He also absorbs 3.67 significant strikes per minute, while his defense is at 61 percent. As for grappling, Moicano has a 1.34 takedown average per 15 minutes, with 58 percent accuracy. His takedown defense is at 76 percent, while the submission average per 15 minutes is at 0.6.

Fiziev enters into the APEX with a professional fighting record of 8-1. The 27-year-old from Kyrgyzstan is fighting in his fourth UFC bout and second in 2020. “Antman” last fought at UFC Fight Night 172, where he defeated Marc Diakiese in Round 2 by unanimous decision.

Before making the jump to UFC in 2019, Fiziev has competed at Titan FC, Road FC, Primal FC, MMA Kyrgyzstan, and W.I.N. Fighting Championship. He averages 4.61 significant strikes per minutes, with an accuracy of 56 percent. But Fiziev absorbs 4.23 strikes per minute, while his defense is at 46 percent. Lastly, when it comes to grappling, he has a 0.95 takedown average per 15 minutes, while his accuracy is at 66 percent.
