What to do with Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Le’Veon Bell in Week 14 fantasy football

We go over the fantasy football outlook of Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Le’Veon Bell ahead of the Chiefs Week 14 matchup against the Dolphins.

Game day update: The Chiefs’ running back group should get a major boost with Clyde Edwards-Helaire returning for Sunday’s game against the Dolphins. Last week, Le’Veon Bell and Darrel Williams did not move the needle on the ground, producing 5.5 and 4.3 fantasy points.

This season, CEH has scored at least 10 fantasy points in five games for Kansas City. And in his last two games, the rookie has 106 yards on 25 carries and two touchdowns. CEH should be able to get things rolling for the Chiefs’ ground against a Dolphins’ defense that has only allowed 11 points to RBs in their last two games.

ESPN projects Edwards-Helaire to score 10 fantasy points, while Bell and Williams to score 4.5 and 1.4 points.

With a Week 13 win over the Denver Broncos, the Kansas City Chiefs advanced to 11-1 on the season and clinched a playoff berth. The AFC West leaders achieved that without their top running back, as Clyde Edwards-Helaire was held out due to a non-COVID-related illness. As the rookie rusher makes his return against the Miami Dolphins this week, how will backfield usage shape up?

Fantasy Football analysis: Chiefs RBs Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Le’Veon Bell

Without CEH, neither Le’Veon Bell nor Darrel Williams were able to claim control of the RB position against the Broncos. Bell out-carried Williams 11 to 6, but only out-scored him in DKFP 7.5 to 5.3. Edwards-Helaire will have the opportunity to reassert himself as the lead back against a Dolphins defense that has faced some seriously weak offenses recently. Bell did not turn out to be the threat that CEH fantasy managers were worried about, and they can confidently start the latter as an RB2 in the traditional first round of fantasy football playoffs.

Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation

Start Edwards-Helaire. Sit or drop Bell.
