Friday update: The Falcons have ruled Julio Jones OUT for Week 14.
Thursday update: Jones did not practice on Thursday, making for a second straight missed practice, per William McFadden. This isn’t a great sign, but as we mentioned, Jones can play on little to no practice if his body allows.
The Atlanta Falcons are playing out the string on the 2020 season, but wide receiver Julio Jones keeps pushing in spite of an assortment of injuries. Jones has been dealing with a hamstring injury in recent weeks, and it has left him a game-to-game decision. The Falcons had their first practice of Week 14 on Wednesday and Jones did not participate.
Jones sat out Week 12 but then played in Week 13 after two limited days and a DNP. He’s the kind of player who can go even with little to no work during the practice week, but it will usually still come down to a game-time decision. And so, we’ll have to wait and see what Thursday and Friday bring on the practice report.
In spite of his hamstring injury, Jones caught six of ten targets last week for 94 yards. It’s been an up-and-down year for the star wide receiver with only two trips to the end zone. The Chargers rank fifth in fantasy points allowed to opposing wide receivers, but Jones remains worth a start if active.
