Best available tight ends on the Week 13 waiver wire

There are a few tight ends widely available that either have favorable matchups heading into Week 13, had successful Week 11 performances, or could benefit from an injury. With that in mind, here are five tight ends with under 50% ownership in traditional fantasy football leagues that managers can consider picking up for Week 13.

Week 13 byes: Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Carolina Panthers

Robert Tonyan, Packers (61 percent)

Next up — PHI, @DET, CAR, TEN

Tonyan is over our threshold for roster percentage, but with his upcoming schedule and recent play, he should be rostered in more than 61 percent of Yahoo leagues. And when you consider your tight end options each week, Tonyan looks like a Top-10 option through the fantasy playoffs.

Trey Burton, Colts (19 percent)

Next up — @HOU, @LV, HOU, @PIT

Any tight end not named Travis Kelce is a risk to give you bupkis each week, and Burton is one of those many. But, he’s scored in his last two games and gets a good matchup against a weak Texans pass defense that has allowed the third most yards per tight end target this season.

Jordan Reed, 49ers (25 percent)

Next up — BUF, WSH, @DAL, @ARI

Reed has shown enough to keep him on your radar with George Kittle out, as he’s seen six targets in each of his last two games. Unfortunately that’s led to just seven receptions for 80 yards and no touchdowns. The good news is that the Bills, who are up next, have allowed the third-most PPR fantasy points in the league to the position.

Logan Thomas, Washington (41 percent)

Next up — @PIT, @SF, SEA, CAR

Thomas is another player who must find the end zone for fantasy relevance, which he was able to do last week for the first time in a while. The good news is that he has four red zone targets over the last two weeks, ranking him second out of all tight ends.

Kyle Rudolph, Vikings (15 percent)

Next up — JAX, @TB, CHI, @NO

Rudolph’s upside is tied directly to Irv Smith Jr.’s status. In his two games with Smith out recently, Rudolph has caught 11-of-13 targets for 131 yards, giving him a decent PPR floor. And facing the Jaguars this week should give him an easy go of things when targeted.
