We go over Drew Brees’ fantasy football outlook ahead of the Saints Week 9 matchup against the Bucs on Sunday Night Football.

Father Time catching up with Drew Brees has been one of this season’s most talked about stories. The 13-time Pro Bowl quarterback hasn’t been pushing the ball downfield like he used to, but he is still producing enough to keep the New Orleans Saints competitive and be a useful asset in fantasy football.

Fantasy Football analysis: Saints QB Drew Brees

While Brees’ yards per attempt number is declining compared to his last four seasons, he’s still completing more than 73 percent of his passes and has only thrown three interceptions. The accuracy is still there. He threw two touchdowns in Week 1 against the Buccaneers, who’ll the Saints play again this week.

He was limited at practice this week, dealing with a shoulder injury, but it does sound as though he is on track to play.

What could help Brees this week is the likely return of Michael Thomas. The ceiling isn’t terribly high for the Saints quarterback, but his floor is high enough to make him a decent start in fantasy.
