The Kansas City Chiefs demolished the New York Jets by a score of 35-9 in Week 8. Patrick Mahomes earned himself a spot on the bench with most of the fourth quarter still left to play, but not before torching the Jets for 416 passing yards and five touchdowns. Coming off of a massive fantasy week, can we count on Mahomes against Carolina?

Fantasy Football analysis: Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes

As we all know, the Week 8 outcome was not an outlier by any means. This was Mahomes’ fourth game of the season registering more than 30 DKFP. The Jets are definitely the softest opponents that the Chiefs, or any team, will face this season. In Week 9, Mahomes will match up against a Panthers defense that is allowing less than 240 passing yards per game (10th-fewest) and just 17.2 DKFP to opposing quarterbacks (6th-fewest). Regardless, the Chiefs have an implied total of 30.5, and it’s hard to imagine a world where Mahomes doesn’t have a hand in ANY of those points.
