The hype around Hayden Hurst’s arrival in Atlanta has yet to be realized, and it probably won’t this season. However, he has at least reached a consistent enough level of play to be a decent option in fantasy football.
Fantasy Football analysis: Falcons TE Hayden Hurst
Hurst had 54 yards on five catches last week (seven targets). It was his third game in a row where he had at least 50 yards. And though he hasn’t found the end zone since Week 6, he does have three touchdowns on the season, which at least signals a semi-regular scoring potential.
This week the Falcons take on the Broncos, a team that’s managed to do pretty well against opposing tight ends. Denver hasn’t allowed a tight end to score since the first game of the season, and nobody’s managed to break 50 yards against this defense either. So while Hurst has been a decent producer lately, this week’s game looks like another bump in the road.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Sit Hayden Hurst.
