What to do with Diontae Johnson, James Washington in Week 9 fantasy football

We go over Diontae Johnson, James Washington’s fantasy football outlook ahead of the Steelers Week 9 matchup against the Cowboys.

Is Diontae Johnson or Tyler Lockett a better play in week 9?

Game day update: The Steelers face an abysmal Cowboys defense that ranks seventh worst in fantasy points allowed to opposing wide receivers. Diontae Johnson is projected in ESPN PPR leagues to have 12.3 points, while James Washington is projected to have 1.8 points. Washington is off the radar with the emergence of Chase Claypool alongside a healthy Johnson and JuJu Smith-Schuster.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have the chance to post some uncanny fantasy football stats this week when they play the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday afternoon. Just how many points there will be to go around to their receivers is another question since the game could be well out of hand by the second half.

Fantasy Football analysis: Steelers WRs Diontae Johnson, James Washington

One week after being Ben Roethlisberger’s preferred target, Johnson found himself without much to do last Sunday against the Titans. He was targeted three times, catching just one pass for six yards. The week before that, he had nine catches on 15 targets for 80 yards and two scores. He did hurt his hamstring in Week 8, but returned to the game and should be fine for this week.

Washington has been the odd man out for a while now. He did have four catches and a touchdown in Week 6 when Johnson was out of action, but he hasn’t had a catch since then.

With so many weapons, it’s hard to know which receiver in this offense will breakout in a given week. However, Johnson has a great matchup to produce this week.

Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation

Start Diontae Johnson. Sit James Washington.
