How and what to watch for Pittsburgh vs. Florida State

Both the Pittsburgh Panthers and Florida State Seminoles enter Saturday’s ACC showdown in Tallahassee gunning to get back into the win column after suffering humiliating defeats heading into their respective byes last week.

The last time the Seminoles stepped onto the field, they were torched by Malik Cunningham and the Louisville Cardinals to the tune of a 48-16 beatdown. The ‘Noles fell into an early hole quickly, giving up 21 points in the first half and were absolutely gashed on the ground to the tune of 7.9 yards per rush. Behind the eight-ball for much of the contest, FSU couldn’t muster enough fire power with starting quarterback Jordan Travis only throwing for 141 yards on 14 completions, one touchdown and an interception.

The free-falling Panthers didn’t fare any better that afternoon, getting demolished 45-3 by Notre Dame in South Bend. Panthers QB Joey Yellen coughed up three interceptions while his Notre Dame counterpart Ian Book had an efficient day, throwing for 312 yards on just 16 completions and three touchdowns. That marked the Panthers’ fourth straight loss after a 3-0 start.
