The Miami Dolphins are going to be shorthanded at running back this week when they face the Arizona Cardinals. The team placed Myles Gaskin on injured reserve this week and now has ruled out Matt Breida for Week 9 due to a hamstring injury.

This leaves Jordan Howard as the top running back with Patrick Laird and Salvon Ahmed also available. ESPN is bullish on Laird, projecting him with nearly as many fantasy points this weekend as Howard in PPR leagues (9.0 to 9.7).

If you are desperate for a back, Howard would be the guy to grab off the waiver wire. If you can avoid this situation, however, you should. They all have limited upside as is, but in a game that could turn into a bit of a shootout, Tua and the pass catchers are where åny fantasy value will lie in Week 9.
