Saturday’s Arizona vs. Utah game canceled, likely not to be rescheduled

The Pac-12 season has another cancelation before it even gets started thanks to Covid-19.

A day after the Pac-12 canceled Washington vs. Cal, the conference announced a second cancelation. The Utah Utes submitted a request for their opener against the Arizona Wildcats be canceled due to Covid-19. They were unable to field enough scholarship players, which under the Pac-12 protocol allows for the game to be canceled.

The Pac-12 has a compressed scheduled due to its late start date, and so it is likely going to be impossible to make up these games later in the season. Both teams have a game scheduled every weekend through December 12th during a mini-season that allows just six games per team in 2020.
