Game day update: With the Jaguars starting rookie Jake Luton under center on Sunday, expect rookie running back James Robinson to get a ton of touches. This season, the former Illinois State Red Bird running back has been a top-15 play in fantasy football. In his first meeting with Houston, Robinson only had five fantasy points. However, don’t expect that to happen again. ESPN projects Robinson to score 14.7 fantasy points.
Halfway through the season, and the Jacksonville Jaguars are a mess. Sounds about right. But for fantasy purposes, the team does have a viable No. 1 running back, James Robinson, and with an untested rookie making his first NFL start at quarterback, it looks like Robinson’s due for solid fantasy production.
Fantasy Football analysis: Jaguars RB James Robinson
Robinson is coming off his second game of the season with more than 100 rushing yards. He had 119 last week against the Chargers, finding the end zone for his fourth rushing touchdown this season. He also caught four passes for 18 yards and a touchdown, his second receiving score of the year.
This week the Jaguars will play the Texans. The last time these two teams faced off, back in Week 5, Robinson had just 48 yards on 13 carries, adding another 22 on five receptions. This time around, with Jake Luton at QB, he’s likely to get a bigger workload, regardless of the score, thus upping his fantasy value.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Start James Robinson.
