Tale of the Tape for Giga Chikadze vs. Jamey Simmons

In a featherweight battle on the undercard of UFC Vegas 13, Giga Chikadze will fight Jamey Simmons Saturday in Las Vegas, and available on ESPN+.

The 32-year-old Chikadze enters the octagon with a professional record of 11-2 and a four-match winning streak. This is his third bout in 2020 and fourth overall in the UFC. The last time “Ninja” Chikadze was in the octagon, he defeated Omar Morales by unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 179 in October.

Before that fight, he won another match by unanimous decision, this time against Irwin Rivera at UFC on ESPN 8 in May. “Ninja” is a striker by trade as most of his TKOs in Gladiator Challenge came via punches. Chikadze lands 3.52 strikes per minute, with a 43 percent striking accuracy. He also absorbs 2.76 strikes per minute, while his defense is at 60 percent. When it comes to grappling, the 32-year-old has a 0.40 takedown average per 15 minutes and 40 percent takedown accuracy.

As for Simmons, the 28-year-old from Milwaukee will be making his UFC debut on Saturday. He is coming into the APEX with a professional record of 7-2. “The Afro Samurai” Simmons fought last month at Caged Aggression 28, where he defeated Sean West in Round 2 by submission via rear-naked choke in his only fight this year. Simmons had five bouts in 2019, competing at Pure FC 16, Inner Strength MMA 18, LFA 70, No Mercy 10, and Pure FC 13.
