On Friday night the 5-1 Miami Hurricanes head to Raleigh to take on 4-2 North Carolina State Wolfpack live on ESPN.
NC State is coming off of an idle week, and due to injury the Wolfpack will roll with signal caller Brady Hockman. In 2020 Hockman has seen action in four games, and has thrown for 531 yards, three scores and four picks. Look for the NCSU to have a balanced game both on the ground and in the air, the team is averaging over 130 yards on the ground each game and are led by two backs who have 752 yards and six scores this season.
Miami’s offense sputtered a bit in their last game, scoring just 19 points against the Virginia Cavaliers. But on the whole, the ‘Canes average 32.8 points per game Miami has a true dual threat in QB D’Eriq King, who has nearly 1400 passing yards and another 301 on the ground, with 13 total touchdowns. The team’s wide receiver corps has had issues with drops, but the ground game is solid, rushing for close to 200 yards per game between King and RB Cam’Ron Harris.
The large difference between these two teams with good offenses is the defense. Miami gives up just 22 points per game, while NC State allows over 34. points per game

The Best Bet
Miami had a tough time out on offense against UVA, but U of M has had a pretty solid offensive showing most of the season. NC State has as well, but Miami’s defense holds opponents to a small number of points. Add in a backup QB for NCSU, and the money inches toward the ‘Canes
Pick: Miami -10.5
