Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Sammy Watkins will practice on Wednesday, after missing the last three weeks with a hamstring injury, per ESPN’s Adam Teicher. It would seem he is poised to return this week to face the Panthers.
Watkins had seen seven or more targets in three of his four full games this season and has been a useful PPR player while also finding the end zone twice. His direct backup is Demarcus Robinson, so he should see the biggest hit when Watkins returns.
Mecole Hardman’s playing time hasn’t been tied to Watkins’ status, so his slight uptick in work last week shouldn’t be affected here.
If Watkins was dropped in your fantasy football league, he’s worth picking up. He’s not going to be a huge fantasy asset, but he will get opportunities in a great offense, likely keeping his PPR floor high enough to start in most leagues.
