Final injury report
Out: Adam Humphries (concussion), Jamal Agnew (ribs), Kenny Golladay (hip)
Doubtful: Chris Moore (thigh), T.Y. Hilton (groin), Diontae Spencer (shoulder), Dontrelle Inman (hamstring)
Questionable: Devin Duvernay (thigh), Marcus Johnson (knee), Sammy Watkins (hamstring), Tim Patrick (hamstring), Calvin Ridley (foot), Michael Thomas (ankle, hamstring), Chris Godwin (finger)
Wednesday injury report
Chris Godwin has a cast on his hand and Bruce Arians said he will need to prove he can catch the ball on Friday before getting clearance to play. If he is unable to get, Christian Blake would get a bump in playing time.
Michael Thomas is making progress with a limited practice on Wednesday, but his status remains unclear for Week 9 against the Buccaneers. Sammy Watkins returned to practice and looks to be on track to return this week against the Panthers. Demarcus Robinson takes the biggest hit.
Adam Humphries will be in the concussion protocol this week and will have to show progress each day. If he can’t go on Sunday, tight end Jonnu Smith probably sees the biggest benefit among the Titans pass catchers.
Tim Patrick was limited with his hamstring injury, but returning to practice is a great sign. He was close to getting back last week but was a game-time scratch. All that suggests a good chance of playing this week against the Falcons.
Finally, Kenny Golladay is out this week, which means Marvin Jones and T.J. Hockenson should see extra targets.
DNP: T.Y. Hilton (groin), Anthony Miller (toe), Adam Humphries (concussion), Diontae Spencer (shoulder), Calvin Ridley (foot), Kenny Golladay (hip), Randall Cobb (illness), John Brown (knee)
Limited: Tim Patrick (hamstring), Russell Gage (shoulder, knee), Marquez Callaway (ankle), Michael Thomas (ankle, hamstring), Chris Godwin (finger), Scott Miller (hip, groin), Sterling Shepard (shoulder, toe)
Full: Chris Moore (thigh), Adam Thielen (shoulder),
The only certainties in life: death, taxes and Davante Adams, finishing as a top-five fantasy receiver. He and second-year wideout D.K. Metcalf have established themselves as forces to be reckoned with in fantasy. Simply put, if you’re facing either of them on any given week, you might not be taking home the win.
Tyreek Hill continues to dominate for Mahomes and the Chiefs in the touchdown department. He’s seen 14 fewer targets than TE Travis Kelce on the season, but continues to lead the team in scores.
Some players who are ranking well in non-PPR formats in recent weeks that still may not be making headlines: Christian Kirk, who returns from bye in Week 9, Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd — each of them top-10 receivers — and Corey Davis, who’s seen back-to-back games with ten targets and has scored in three of his five games so far.
Injury news
Deebo Samuel has been ruled out for Thursday Night Football. With George Kittle also out, Brandon Aiyuk could become the centerpiece of the offense.
Allen Lazard is back practicing, but the team has some time left to activate him off injured reserve. We’ll know by Thursday if he is going to be on the active roster for the game.
Kenny Golladay is not going to play this week against the Vikings, which means Marvin Jones and T.J. Hockenson will be the primary targets in the passing game.
Calvin Ridley may be in line to miss Week 9 (or more) with a foot injury. Ridley left the team’s TNF outing early in Week 8 and was eventually ruled out with what was called a foot sprain. The mini-bye week could help give him some extra time to heal up, but if he’s not ready to go, Russell Gage has proved a decent fill-in.
Jamison Crowder had a setback last week that cost him the game. His status will be one to watch as teams return to practice.
Tim Patrick was inactive last week with a hamstring injury, but it came down to a game-time decision. That bodes well for a potential return in Week 9.
Antonio Brown is back. The Bucs activated him off the suspended list and he will be eligible to play. With Chris Godwin potentially out again and Mike Evans still a bit banged up, Brown could see some decent playing time.
Bye weeks
Cincinnati Bengals, Cleveland Browns, Philadelphia Eagles, Los Angeles Rams
Tyler Boyd, A.J. Green, Tee Higgins, Jarvis Landry, Rashard Higgins, Robert Woods, Cooper Kupp, Travis Fulgham, and Jalen Reagor are all going to be sidelined this week with a bye. One notable plus to the bye week is a chance for Alshon Jeffery to get healthier.
Streaming options
Chase Claypool, Steelers
There are far too many mouths to feed in PIttsburgh to feel overly confident in any of these fantasy assets on a weekly basis. However, the Dallas Cowboys secondary presents each of them an opportunity for a big Week 9 performance. Claypool has totaled five scores on the season, while the Cowboys lead the league with 266 points allowed. There will be plenty of yards (and scores) up for grabs in this one.
Brandon Aiyuk, 49ers
The 49ers are running short on passers, rushers and receivers as of late, but luckily for Kyle Shanahan, rookie Brandon Aiyuk has shown an ability to accomplish two of the three. The team will once again be without WR Deebo Samuel (hamstring), and in contests with seven or more targets, Aiyuk has managed at least 70 receiving yards. He’s scored four TDs on the season, and given the wide range of opportunity in this offense with the slew of injuries, Aiyuk could be in a great spot to perform versus the Packers on TNF.
