Deebo Samuel still an option as he returns from injury with a big Week 12

Deebo Samuel returned to the 49ers active lineup in Week 12 and posted 11 receptions for 133 yards. He is worth a priority waiver wire add in the 40% of ESPN leagues in which he’s available.

After missing some time with a hamstring injury, San Francisco 49ers second-year wide receiver Deebo Samuel made his presence felt early and often against the Los Angeles Rams. Samuel had his best performance this season with a game-high 11 receptions (13 targets) for 134 yards.

Coincidentally, Samuel’s previous season’s best performance happened against this same Rams team in October. In that game, the 6-foot wideout recorded six receptions (six targets) on 66 yards and a touchdown. With rookie wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk still on the COVID-19 list, Samuel will undoubtedly continue to see a majority of the targets for this Niners’ offense.

This is not only good news for Niners quarterback Nick Mullens, but for fantasy football managers everywhere as the playoffs begin in Week 13. If he’s still available in your respective league, Samuel could become a nice WR2/WR3 play. Looking at San Francisco’s next four games, he will have more than a few favorable matchups to put up double-digit points. Samuel is currently rostered in 54 percent of Yahoo fantasy leagues.

Fantasy football playoff schedule, Weeks 13-16: Bills, Washington, Cowboys, Cardinals

The 49ers opponents for the fantasy football playoffs all rank top-15 in fantasy points allowed to wide receivers since Week 8. The Cowboys and Cardinals each rank top-10, facing the 49ers in Weeks 15 and 16 respectively. Samuel could be a league-winning add as he returns from injury.
