Some wide receivers are coming into Week 12 with ideal matchups while others seem likely to underperform. We’ve identified two wideouts who are ideal starters in fantasy football and two who could bust ahead of the action. Let’s go over some of the top options and fades.
Wide Receiver Starts
Travis Fulgham, Philadelphia Eagles vs. Seattle Seahawks
Fulgham is coming off two straight one-reception games but can bounce back against the worst pass defense in the NFL in Week 12. Carson Wentz’s subpar pay should also contribute to how low fantasy managers are on Fulgham, but any quarterback seems to have a chance to exceed 300 passing yards against Seattle. Wentz’s top pass catcher could see a significant boost in production against such a poor secondary. He played 96 percent of Philly’s snaps in Week 11.
Cooper Kupp, Los Angeles Rams vs. San Francisco 49ers
Jared Goff threw for a season-high 376 yards against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 11 will face another strong run defense in Week 12. Kupp has eclipsed 10 receptions in two of his last three games and is pulling away from the rest of the pack in targets. It’s hard to ignore 40 targets over the last three weeks.
Wide Receiver Sits
Tyler Boyd, Cincinnati Bengals vs. New York Giants
Boyd has recorded at least five catches for five straight weeks but was held to one catch for 14 yards after Joe Burrow suffered a season-ending knee injury in Week 11. Brandon Allen is coming off the practice squad to bump Ryan Finley down a spot on the depth chart so I’m not optimistic about the production of Boyd against a Giants secondary that’s anchored by James Bradberry.
Jamison Crowder, New York Jets vs. Miami Dolphins
Miami held New York scoreless earlier this season. While Crowder did haul in seven of his 13 targets for 48 yards, Joe Flacoo only completed 47.7 percent of his passes for 186 yards. Crowder hasn’t been targeted more than three times in a game since that matchup and has taken a back seat to Breshad Perriman.
