The No. 13 Michigan State Spartans passed their first test of the season earlier and they’ll up the degree of difficulty on Saturday when welcoming the Notre Dame Fighting Irish to the Breslin Center.

Sparty breezed through their season opener on Wednesday, downing Eastern Michigan for an 83-67 victory. Foster Loyer was the star of the game for the Spartans, burying six threes for a 20-point, four rebound evening. MSU wasn’t without fault however, turning the ball over 18 times in the win.

Notre Dame will be making their season debut coming off a 20-12 campaign last season. Key figures for Mike Brey’s 2020-21 squad includes junior guard Prentiss Hubb, who averaged 12.1 points and five assists a game last year and Stanford transfer Ryan Cormac, who sat out last season due to eligibility rules.
