What to do with Noah Fant in Week 12 fantasy football

We go over the fantasy football outlook of Noah Fant ahead of the Broncos Week 12 matchup against the Saints.

Saturday update: It’s safe to say we can downgrade Noah Fant in Week 12. The team will be playing without any of the quarterbacks on their roster due to Covid-19. Jeff Driskel tested positive for the virus and Drew Lock, Brett Rypien, and Blake Bortles have all been deemed high-risk close contacts and are not allowed to play in Sunday’s game.

That leaves practice squad wide receiver Kendall Hinton and running back/emergency QB Royce Freeman as the only available options. Look for Hinton to start given his three years of QB experience at Wake Forest. Fant could be a safety blanket type of option, but the downside is huge.

Noah Fant should be a vastly more productive tight end than he is. His production numbers are hurting because of quarterback Drew Lock’s struggles this season. Still, he has a big enough role in this offense that he’s a decent addition to fantasy football lineups.

Fantasy Football analysis: Broncos TE Noah Fant

Fant caught four of five targets for 55 yards last week in Denver’s upset win over the Dolphins. That was his most productive game since Week 2 this season. Like everything about the Broncos passing game, Fant’s numbers are depressed because of the larger struggles happening under center.

It’s not going to get much easier this week against the Saints. Opposing tight ends have been blanked in two of their last three games, and they haven’t let one score since Week 5. But Fant plays a useful role as Lock’s safety valve, giving him a pretty consistent level of targets each week. That alone makes him a TE2 play this Sunday.
