The Los Angeles Chargers’ backfield has a whole lot of questions heading into Week 12 when they face the Buffalo Bills. The team wrapped up practice on Friday and announced running back Kalen Ballage is questionable due to ankle and calf injuries. He has been getting in limited work at practice, and his status for Sunday will likely be a game-day decision.

Whether or not Ballage can play, the bigger question could be whether or not Austin Ekeler will play. Ekeler has been on injured reserve due to a hamstring injury, but was brought back to practice this week. Head coach Anthony Lynn told the media on Friday that Ekeler has “a chance” to play on Sunday, per Daniel Popper. The team does not have to activate him until 4 p.m. ET on Saturday, so we’re left waiting for now.

If Ballage is unable to go and Ekeler is not activated, Joshua Kelley would likely move into the lead back role with Troymaine Pope serving as his backup.
