Game day update: Unlike their RBs, the Rams wide receivers have been consistent and productive lately. In their win last week against the Bucs, Cooper Kupp and Robert Woods scored 14.5 and 18.6 fantasy points. With that being said, can both wide receivers replicate these numbers on Sunday? This season, the Niners’ defense is allowing 20.8 fantasy points per game to opposing wide receivers.
In their previous matchup in Week 5, the Rams WRs scored 22 points against San Fran. After that game, the Niners’ defense gave up nine points to the Pats’ WRs, before allowing two 40-plus point outings to the Seahawks and Packers. ESPN projects Kupp to score 9.3 fantasy points, while Woods and Josh Reynolds to score 9.9 and 6.2 points.
The Los Angeles Rams leaned on the pass last week against the Bucs, and it worked. Not only did they get the win, their top two receivers combined for 275 yards and a touchdown. So what should we expect from the Rams’ wide receivers in fantasy football this week when they take on the 49ers?
Fantasy Football analysis: Los Angeles Rams WRs Cooper Kupp, Robert Woods, Josh Reynolds
Kupp’s 145-yard effort last week was his second triple-digit outing in his last three games. He hasn’t scored since Week 4, but he usually leads the team in targets. He had a rough outing the last time he played the 49ers, back in Week 6, catching just three passes on nine targets for 11 yards. Still, the target share alone makes him a WR2.
Woods led the trio in targets last week with 15; he caught 12 of them for 130 yards and a touchdown. He now has five scores on the season, one of which came against the 49ers. Reynolds had just 32 yards on three catches last week, but he led the team with 45 yards and a touchdown against San Francisco in Week 6.
I’d feel good about Woods and Kupp this week as WR2. Reynolds isn’t a bad play for a WR4 spot, with the potential for a good day considering his recent uptick in involvement.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Start Cooper Kupp and Robert Woods at WR2. Start Josh Reynolds as a WR4/flex.
