Philip Rivers looks good in Friday practice, should be set to play in Week 12

The Colts QB said he’ll practice Friday, so we’ll see how this develops.

Friday update: Rivers practiced on Friday and head coach Frank Reich said he “looked good,” according to Olivia Ray. He would seem to be on track to play on Sunday against the Titans.

The Indianapolis Colts have one more full practice for Week 12, and they’ll be looking to get Philip Rivers back to the field in that one. Rivers was listed as a DNP on Thursday, marking the second straight day he has sat out practice. It was an estimated report because the team did not hold a full practice, but it is still notable.

The other important thing however, is that Rivers told the media will practice on Friday, according to Zak Keefer. He’s dealing with a toe injury, but his optimism would suggest this a mix of pain and load management to get him ready for a crucial Week 12 showdown with the Tennessee Titans.

Rivers will likely be a bit limited in the pocket due to this injury. He is not normally an overly mobile quarterback, but it is relevant to his footwork and getting his passes off. Expect him to play on Sunday, but we’ll be keeping an eye on how the toe impacts his throwing.
