What to do with Washington, Cowboys D/ST in Week 12 fantasy football on Thanksgiving

Are either of these D/ST’s worth a start in your Week 12 fantasy football lineup?

Previewing Washington at Dallas

The Cowboys face off with the Football Team on Thanksgiving Day in a battle to avoid being the worst team in the worst division in the NFL. Each of these teams has a 3-7 record currently, and a win could potentially launch them into first place in the pitiful NFC East. Are either of these D/ST’s worth starting in this divisional matchup? We break down the fantasy analysis below.

Fantasy Football Analysis: Washington Football Team D/ST, Dallas Cowboys Team D/ST

The Washington Football Team D/ST has provided a bit of a roller-coaster for fantasy owners this season, consistently yo-yo’ing between performances resulting in negative point totals to performances for double digit points. They are currently averaging 6.0 points per game on the season. They are facing a Dallas opponent that had been friendly to opposing D/ST’s recently due to a quarterback crisis, but the Cowboys offense seemed to find their footing once again in Week 11 as they put up 31 points against the Minnesota Vikings. A slam dunk is far from guaranteed here, but the last time Washington D/ST faced Dallas in Week 7 they scored 17.0 points. Andy Dalton was at the helm of the Cowboys offense for most of that game and if history repeats itself, the Football Team is a great start. They can be inserted in starting lineups this week.

The Cowboys defense is at full health heading into this matchup, but that statement doesn’t carry a ton of weight considering the abysmal season this unit has had so far this season. They are currently averaging 0.9 points per game. Even though the Washington offense isn’t particularly intimidating, the Cowboys have failed to stop even the most docile offenses from trampling all over them this season. With every opponent scoring 20+ points so far this season, and the Cowboys disappointing track record so far this season, they are best left on the bench.
