What to do with Darren Fells, Jordan Akins in Week 12 fantasy football

We go over the fantasy football outlook of Darren Fells, Jordan Akins ahead of the Texans Week 12 matchup against the Lions on Thanksgiving.

The Houston Texans will go to their tight ends a decent amount every once in a while, but choosing which player it will be is the tricky part. For fantasy owners who have Darren Fells or Jordan Akins on their roster, here’s what should be done as we get closer to kickoff on Thanksgiving Day.

Fantasy Football analysis: Texans TEs Darren Fells, Jordan Akins

In Sunday’s game against the New England Patriots, Akins had his best game of the season in yardage, catching five of six targets for 83 yards. Fells caught both of his two targets for 29 yards, and Pharaoh Brown added 22 yards, catching two of the three targets that went his way.

Deshaun Watson went the tight ends’ way a total of 11 times, which would be great for fantasy owners if this kept up each week, but Akins and Fells generally split playing time, limiting each of their production.

The Texans will face a Detroit Lions defense that did not allow a single reception to any Carolina Panthers tight end on Sunday.

Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation

Houston tight ends are hard to predict especially when they have multiple tight ends going out for passes regularly. Akins is likely the main option and should be looked at as a low-end tight end No. 2 at best, while the others should remain on the bench for fantasy purposes.
