Boxing will be in the spotlight this Saturday, November 28, for better or worse thanks to a fight card we can call “curious,” to say the least. STAPLES Center will play host to a card topped by Mike Tyson vs. Roy Jones, Jr. in an exhibition fight. Additionally, YouTube personality Jake Paul will take on retired NBA Slam Dunk champ Nate Robinson in a six-round cruiserweight fight.
The main card gets underway at 9 p.m. ET, airing on cable provider PPV and via live online stream at Triller and Fite.TV, at a cost of $49.99. The main event is expected to get going at around 11:30 p.m.. Paul-Robinson is the penultimate fight on the card and should get going around 10:30 or 10:45 p.m.
This is Paul’s second career professional fight, having made his debut in January 2020 when he beat YouTube personality AnEsonGib via TKO at 2:18 of the first round. Prior to that, Paul made his boxing debut with a TKO of Deji in the fifth round when the latter’s corner threw in the towel. Paul is 2-0 with one win each as an amateur and a pro.
This marks Robinson’s debut as a fighter at any level. He spent 11 years in the NBA, beginning his career with the New York Knicks and spending time with the Boston Celtics, Oklahoma City Thunder, Golden State Warriors, Chicago Bulls, Denver Nuggets, and other squads. He is a three-time NBA Slam Dunk Content winner.
