Quarterback rankings for Week 12 fantasy football

We take you through some of the best quarterbacks going in Week 12 for fantasy football, including a few viable streamers.

Final injury report

The Bears are rolling with Mitchell Trubisky as their starter against the Packers in Week 12. Philip Rivers missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday, but got in a limited session on Friday. He seems on track to play. The biggest question is if Tua Tagovailoa will be ready on Sunday after jamming his throwing thumb on Wednesday.

The Ravens-Steelers game was moved from Sunday to Tuesday due to Covid-19 after initially being scheduled for Thanksgiving. If you have Lamar Jackson or Ben Roethlisberger, consider alternatives. Jackson definitely will not play, and while Roethlisberger would play if the game happened, we don’t know if it will happen.

Out: N/A
Doubtful: Nick Foles (hip)
Questionable: Gardner Minshew (right thumb), Tua Tagovailoa (left thumb), Philip Rivers (toe)

Thursday’s Ravens vs. Steelers Update

The Ravens had four more players and five staff members test positive according to Thursday evening reports. The game was moved from Thursday to Sunday, but is in danger of being postponed again. Lamar Jackson was one of the players who tested positive for Covid-19, which means Robert Griffin III would start if the game happens on Sunday. RG3 is not a great start against a strong Steelers defense. Have a contingency plan if you have Lamar Jackson, but also have one if you have Ben Roethlisberger in case the game is postponed again.

Wednesday injury report

Philip Rivers is dealing with a toe injury, but by all accounts is expected to play on Sunday. Kyler Murray injured his shoulder last week against the Seahawks and looked limited by the injury. Getting in any kind of work is a good sign. Tua Tagovailoa jammed his thumb in practice when he hit a helmet but seems on track to return to the starting lineup this Sunday.

DNP: Nick Foles (hip), Philip Rivers (toe)
Limited: Kyler Murray (right shoulder), Gardner Minshew (right thumb), Tua Tagovailoa (left thumb), Sam Darnold (right shoulder)
Full: Teddy Bridgewater (knee), Mitchell Trubisky (right shoulder), Drew Lock (ribs)

Week 11 brought us an interesting set of quarterbacks finishing in the Top 5. No. 1 was DeShaun Watson, who is playing out of his mind right now. If you take away the crazy wind game in Cleveland, he has 14 touchdowns in his last five games. And this week he gets to face the Lions on Thanksgiving.

Justin Herbert doesn’t seem real. To have his poise and decision making ability as a rookie coming off a college career where those weren’t considered his strengths is amazing. He’s Top-5 in fantasy points per start and was QB2 last week as he dismantled the Jets.

Then comes Mr. tight end himself, Taysom Hill, who finished as QB3 with two rushing touchdowns, 51 yards rushing and 231 yards passing. And those passing yards came with no completions to Alvin Kamara! He gets a tougher matchup at Denver this week, but he’ll face Atlanta again the following week.

Injury news

Kyler Murray hurt his shoulder last Thursday night and will miss some practice time, but most-likely will be okay for his matchup with the Patriots.

Joe Burrow is done for the season and Ryan Finley is the most-likely starter this week, but Brandon Allen could be in the mix as well.

Sam Darnold is close to returning from his shoulder injury, but they will make sure he is truly 100 percent before sticking him back out there in a winless season.

Philip Rivers has injured toes that likely won’t be healed completely by the time they play the Titans. He played through the injury last week, so he may do so again.

In the least interesting quarterback battle ever, the Bears have yet to decide if Nick Foles or Mitch Trubisky will start against the Packers.

Matthew Stafford will likely continue to get some rest in practice, but he didn’t have any setbacks with his thumb injury last week.

Bye weeks

There are no teams on bye this week.

Streaming options

Derek Carr, Raiders

Carr isn’t always going to put up big fantasy numbers, as the team tends to lean on the running game, but he’s playing well and gets a great matchup with the Falcons. The Falcons have allowed .774 DK points per passing attempt to quarterbacks this season. That leads the league in futility.

Daniel Jones, Giants

Jones will face a Bengals defense that has allowed the second-most passing touchdowns per game. They’ve given up five touchdown passes to Baker Mayfield, which was three more than he’d thrown in a game all season. Jones has looked better of late and is coming off a bye, so should be well rested, while the Bengals just lost their franchise quarterback for the season.
