There are a few quarterbacks widely available that either have good matchups heading into Week 12, or had successful Week 11 performances, or could benefit from an injury. With that in mind, here are five quarterbacks with under 50% rostership in traditional fantasy football leagues that managers can consider picking up for Week 12.
Week 12 byes: None
Taysom Hill, New Orleans Saints (43 percent)
Next up — @DEN, @ATL, @PHI, KC, MIN
I didn’t think I’d suggest this in 2020 but here we are. Hill threw for 233 yards and ran for 51 yards and two scores on 10 attempts in his first NFL start in Week 11. Every defense isn’t the Atlanta Falcons but Hill’s skill set make him a viable late-season pickup with Drew Brees on the mend.
Kirk Cousins, Minnesota Vikings (42 percent percent)
Next up — CAR, JAX, @TB, CHI, @NO
Cousins is trending in the right direction and has thrown for at least three touchdowns in two of his last three games. Adam Thielen and Justin Jefferson have been on a tear. Thielen leads the NFL with 11 touchdown catches and both wideouts are inside the top 20 in receiving yards. Don’t be deterred by Dalvin Cook, as Cousins has made the most out of his dynamic receiving corps.
Philip Rivers, Indianapolis Colts (26 percent)
Next up — TEN, @HOU, @LV, HOU, @PIT
Rivers suffered a toe injury in Week 11 but still threw for three scores for the third time in his last five games. Indianapolis appears to have figured things out on offense and Rivers doesn’t need a go-to guy to perform at a high level. His defense can creates chances that give him ideal field position and he’s been able to spread the ball around and make the most of the opportunities he’s gotten lately.
Derek Carr, Las Vegas Raiders (36 percent)
Next up — @ATL, @NYJ, IND, LAC, MIA
Maybe Carr is just Kansas City’s kryptonite. He snapped a streak of three straight games with less than 200 passing yards be throwing for 275 yards and three touchdowns against the Chiefs in Week 11. The Raiders have scored more than 30 points in each of their last three games and are finally healthy at wide receiver. Las Vegas has some optimal matchups against some very weak secondaries in the near future.
