How the NFL playoff picture looks coming out of Week 11

Week 11 is rapidly coming to a close and we’re just about to the home stretch of the 2020 season. The 4:05/4:25 p.m. games have gotten underway, and we still have Chiefs-Raiders and Rams-Bucs in the two prime time games. Then this coming week is Thanksgiving, and the holiday season is when the NFL’s playoff push picks up steam.

The NFL is expanding the playoff pool this year, adding a wild card team to each conference to bring the total to 14 teams. The No. 1 seed in each conference will get a first round bye. The opening round will feature the three division winners facing the three wild card winners (2/7, 3/6, 4/5). If significant games are canceled or postponed due to Covid-19, the owners and players agreed to expand the playoff field to 16 teams with four wild card winners.

The Browns got a huge win over the Eagles, improving to 7-3 and firming up their playoff position amidst a mess of teams that entered Week 11 at 6-3. Meanwhile, the Eagles drop to 3-6-1 and suddenly are only half a game ahead of the Giants and Washington. The NFC East is truly atrocious and we now have three teams at 3-7 or worse added to our outside looking in info below.

The Titans stunned the Ravens in overtime, with Derrick Henry finishing it via walkoff. Tennessee moves into first place while Baltimore is suddenly behind Cleveland. That is an intriguing development.
