The New Orleans Saints are sending out Taysom Hill as their starting quarterback in Week 11, and thus begins the deeper dive into whether or not he has what it takes to be a franchise QB in this league. He hasn’t shown much as a passer, but Saints head coach Sean Payton thinks there is something there.
The Saints face the Atlanta Falcons in Week 11, and the Falcons defense is bad enough that this qualifies as a favorable matchup for Hill. He’s got a slew of weapons to throw to, but will his legs be what shine most in this matchup?
DraftKings Sportsbook offers odds on the first person to score a touchdown in a given game, and for Sunday’s non-SNF slate, Hill is getting the most action. He is +1000 to score the first touchdown in the Saints-Falcons game and is getting 10% of handle for that market.
Quarterbacks usually have long odds because it requires them running in a score, not throwing a score. Hill is known primarily for his legs, so it’s not surprising people think this is how he gets the Saints in the end zone to open the game.
The top five for first to score includes Derrick Henry (+600, 8%), Chase Claypool (+1300, 7%), Alvin Kamara (+600, 7%), and JuJu Smith-Schuster (+950, 4%).
