What to do with Darren Fells, Jordan Akins in Week 11 fantasy football

We go over the fantasy football outlook of Darren Fells, Jordan Akins ahead of the Texans Week 11 matchup against the Patriots.

Good help is hard to find among tight ends this season. Unfortunately, despite a couple decent games last month from Darren Fells, it does not look as if there are any fantasy football solutions to be found among the Houston Texans’ increasingly complicated tight end rotation.

Fantasy Football analysis: Texans TEs Darren Fells, Jordan Akins

Like the receivers, the tight ends had a bad outing last week in the Cleveland wind bowl, well most of them. Fells had a significant edge on playing time over Akins, as usual, but he had just one catch for 15 yards. The week before that he had two catches, but came up with just 26 yards. And the week before that he was blanked. You see where I’m going here.

Akins missed some time with injuries, but he came back in Week 9. Since then, he’s had three catches on five targets for 24 yards in two games.

Oddly enough, Pharaoh Brown came out of nowhere to catch two passes for 21 yards and a touchdown. Though his score might have been aided by the wind blowing the ball off target. I wouldn’t bank on him to repeat that.

None of these players are producing consistent enough results to make them options for your fantasy football team. The tight ends just haven’t been a regular part of the passing game for Houston. Plus, the Patriots defense has actually been pretty stout against the position, allowing just one touchdown this year.
