ECU vs. Temple delayed because of Covid-19 protocols

An Owls player is getting tested because of an interaction with his girlfriend that tested positive?

Update 12:40 p.m.: This is absolutely insane.

We already had a game canceled about three hours before kickoff this morning, and now one is in a hold pattern because of Covid-19 testing as the East Carolina Pirates are waiting to play the Temple Owls, but a player for the cherry and white is currently testing for Covid-19.

The most 2020 day of the college football season continues thusly:

So a player showing symptoms has a girlfriend that tested positive. Should we even be considering playing this game right now?? Both these teams are 1-5, and merely playing for experience, pride, and hopefully a delicious postgame meal. It’s Philly, get a cheesesteak and some tiramisu or a nice cannoli. But maybe don’t bang into a team that might have been exposed to a global pandemic before doing so?

We’ll let you know once the teams and/or the American Conference makes a decision here.

ECU was a 3-4 point favorite all week, but closed -7 at DraftKings Sportsbook.
