Ahead of the 2020 NFL season, DraftKings Sportsbook set projected win totals for each NFL team. Some teams are well on their way to exceeding these win totals, outperforming the bar oddsmakers set for them prior to Week 1. Other teams need a bit more help to get there.
The Cardinals’ win total was installed at seven wins coming into this season. Despite the fact that they’re on a two-game losing streak, it would still appear that the Cardinals should easily meet their projected win total with five games left on the books. In the offseason, Arizona acquired All-Pro wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins in a trade from the Houston Texans. That trade, as expected, has helped second-year quarterback Kyler Murray and the rest of the Cardinals’ offense. Then, on defense, they took hybrid linebacker Isaiah Simmons in the 2020 NFL Draft, giving them another playmaker.
Fast forward to November, where the Cardinals are in the hunt for the NFC West crown and have a chance to make the playoffs. If they were to make the NFL playoffs, it would be the first time since 2015, where they went 13-3 and lost in the conference championship game. For them to accomplish this feat, they need Murray to continue playing at the level that he’s currently at. This season, he’s completing 68.2 percent of his passes for 2,814 passing yards, 19 passing touchdowns, and 9 interceptions. He also has 650 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns on the ground.
