All the gerunds and adverbs Woj dropped while telling us who was about to be picked in the NBA Draft

Sometimes the biggest Woj Bombs are cached because of ESPN-NBA rules. We recap his use of the language to balance his breaking news with his paycheck.

A Happy Woj Day to all that celebrate, as the NBA Draft is the time to shine for The GOAT of breaking sports news reporters.

But when Adrian Wojnarowski moved from Yahoo to ESPN after years of scooping the Worldwide Leader during their NBA Draft coverage pick after pick after pick, he was forced to stop being #ThisLeague’s Human Spoiler Alert.

But that didn’t stop Woj from dropping dimes, as he now merely uses playful language to let us all know who every team is taking with each pick. And the ability to expand his vocabulary to relay this info to you has been one of the Draft’s true delights over the last few years.

Here we break down how Woj voiced each pick. Can he go 60 for 60 with different ways to describe the next selection? Let’s all find out together below!

Emerging: (Adj). Becoming apparent or prominent. And it’s prominently apparent we’re in for another treat this year.

Targeting: (Gerund). Select as an object of attention or attack. The GOAT’s Twitter feed is the object of our attention tonight, and we’ll attack it downhill all night long.

Focused: (Verb): To cause to be concentrated.

RERUNS WOJ? ALREADY. C’MON MAN!

We’re deep in reruns already. Has Woj forgotten his roots as a newspaper man from the Hartford Courant or Fresno Bee? What would his professors at St. Bonaventure say about this lack of creativity in his writing?

The GOAT is having a rough night from the floor, but it’s early. Let’s see if he can knock a few down here shortly.

#NBATwitter is flustered already.

Excited: (Adj): Having, showing, or characterized by a heightened state of energy, enthusiasm, eagerness, etc. And we’re excited to have our hero back rising and firing.

If Woj had mixed in a “Few had expected” for Gonzaga’s Killian Tillie, coached by Mark Few for the Bulldogs, we would Stan the legend so much harder.

15 yards on Woj, and he’s ejected for the rest of the Draft. Really let his teammates down with another reckless targeting here.

Now they’re just mocking Woj. NOT COOL INTERNET.

This is like watching MJ on the Wizards if we’re being honest. It’s falling apart pretty fast.

Imagine: (Verb): To think, believe, or fancy. Imagine there’s more words... than just targeting for the Draft... no language loss on Twitter... above us, only gerunds

This is getting sad. Now that the lottery picks are over, we’ll be back when the Woj we know and love returns. Come back, Cheeky Woj. Come back to us soon.
