Friday update: The Lions have ruled out Amendola for Week 11.
Thursday update: Amendola was once again not at practice on Thursday, per Chris Burke, which leaves him trending in the wrong direction for Week 11. We don’t have an update yet on Jones.
The Detroit Lions finally got Kenny Golladay back at practice to start this week, but were without Marvin Jones and Danny Amendola, per Pride of Detroit. Amendola was dealing with a hip injury in last week’s game with Washington and had to leave early, while Jones finished the game as normal.
The injury report will be out later today, which should give us some context for why both were missing. The good news of Golladay’s return was dampened by these two starters missing practice, but even more so by Matthew Stafford not practicing due to his thumb injury. He still may play this week, but he’ll need to practice and see how his thumb responds to throwing a ball.
The Lions are still in the hunt for a playoff spot even though they sit last in the NFC North standings. At 4-5, they have plenty of time to put together a run, but these injuries aren’t helping their case.
