Denver Nuggets SF Jerami Grant declines his player option for the 2020-21 season, Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports reported Monday evening. Grant was set to make $9.3 million this season with the Nuggets. He will now become an unrestricted free agent on Friday at 6:00 p.m. ET, when the free agency window opens for interviews and meetings.

Grant, 26, came over to Denver after being traded by the Oklahoma City Thunder. He fit in well with the Nuggets, providing solid depth at forward and being one of Denver’s top defenders during the run to the Western Conference Finals. Grant had essentially played well enough to decline the option and seek a bigger contract, which will likely be the case.
