Ahead of the 2020 NFL season, DraftKings Sportsbook set projected win totals for each NFL team. Some teams are well on their way to exceeding these win totals, outperforming the bar oddsmakers set for them prior to Week 1. Other teams need a bit more help to get there.
The Cincinnati Bengals added the overall No. 1 draft pick in Joe Burrow and went all in with him as the starter. With a second-year head coach in Zac Taylor, the Bengals are still rebuilding their overall roster, but have enough pieces to make games exciting at the least. That has proved itself to be true so far this season, as only the Ravens have bested them by more than five points, while they’ve won two and tied another through eight games.
With an over-under of five wins, they’ll need to take four of their last eight matchups, which sounds tough, but their schedule foes have some decent matchups with the likes of Washington, New York Giants, Dallas, Miami and Houston on the docket. They’ll see the Steelers and Ravens one more time, but with Burrow, it appears they’re going to be competitive in the second half, especially after their last win over the 6-3 Titans.
Burrow’s mid-season line isn’t elite, but it sure is a good sign, as he leads the league in attempts, but is also at a respectable 65 percent completion rate while throwing 12 touchdowns to just five interceptions. With so many attempts, it is good to see his interception numbers remain comparatively low. It will be fun to see how he responds to finish out his rookie season.
