JaMycal Hasty breaks collar bone in Week 10, done for the season

49ers RB JaMycal Hasty is done for the year, although the team is getting healthier at the position elsewhere.

The San Francisco 49ers lost to the New Orleans Saints in Week 10, and they also lost running back JaMycal Hasty for the season to a broken collar bone. Hasty went down with the injury during the game, and in his postgame press conference, head coach Kyle Shanahan announced it was a season-ending injury, per Jennifer Chan.

The 49ers are headed into their bye at a much-needed point. Injuries have piled up and they have a chance to get a little bit healthier during their Week 11 bye. Losing Hasty is not ideal, but they are likely going to get Raheem Mostert and Tevin Coleman back following the bye. After Sunday’s game, Shanahan said “they have a chance” to be back for Week 12, per Matt Barrows.

Jerick McKinnon had 18 carries for an ineffective 33 yards, while Hasty only had three carries for 13 yards. When Mostert and Coleman return, Mostert will likely serve in the starting role with Coleman as his complementary back. McKinnon should see his workload lighten considerably.
