While the NFL’s Week 10 slate doesn’t offer quite as many obvious can’t-miss matchups as a week ago, that doesn’t mean it can’t produce more appealing results. Last Sunday’s prime-time tilt between the New Orleans Saints and Tampa Bay Buccaneers became uncompetitive well before halftime while other games like Chicago Bears at Tennessee Titans devolved into some unwatchable football early in the proceedings.
Meanwhile, Week 10 has plenty at stake for several divisional races. The lead in the NFC East, NFC South, and NFC West could all realistically change hands. Other matchups offer an early look at two of the most promising young quarterbacks in the league.
The best game
Weird things tend to occur when the Seattle Seahawks play, doubly so when they face an opponent within their division. They travel to take on the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday with the winner holding the inside track, along with the Arizona Cardinals, for NFC West dominance. Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson has cooled off of late, tossing five interceptions in his last three games. A strong rebound performance would help push him back toward the front of the MVP race.
Sleeper game
While the Los Angeles Chargers appear headed for yet another dismal season, the team has established a high ceiling of play against likely playoff teams. Much of that derives from quarterback Justin Herbert who could break several rookie passing records. Herbert and company travel to Florida this week to take on the Miami Dolphins and Tua Tagovailoa, the signal-caller taken one pick ahead. If a duel breaks out, it could help determine Offensive Rookie of the Year voting this season.
Worst game
The Green Bay Packers return home after a mini-bye week to host an NFL team seemingly hell-bent on tanking for Trevor Lawrence, the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jags pose so little obvious threat that the Packers will probably give No. 2 wideout Allen Lazard another week to rest and recover from his core-muscle injury. Unless James Robinson delivers his finest NFL performance to date, it seems as though Green Bay will have this tilt wrapped up as eary as halftime.
