What to do with Mike Davis in Week 10 fantasy football

We go over Mike Davis’ fantasy football outlook ahead of the Panthers Week 10 matchup against the Bucs. Christian McCaffrey will not play due to a shoulder injury.

Mike Davis - Start or Sit?

Game day update: Tackle Russell Okung is out, which takes a little bit of the wind out of Mike Davis’ sails. That being said, with Christian McCaffrey sidelined, Davis will be plenty busy in Week 10. ESPN projects Davis with 15.5 points in PPR leagues and backup Trenton Cannon with 3.9 points.

While it still is not clear when or if Christian McCaffrey will return to action for the Carolina Panthers, what we do know for sure is that CMC will not play in Week 10. That means Mike Davis gets another star turn as the featured back in Carolina’s offense.

Fantasy Football analysis: Panthers RB Mike Davis

Davis didn’t have much to do last week against the Chiefs for McCaffrey’s one game back. He had one carry for three yards and five receptions for 34 yards playing second fiddle. Previously, Davis had a solid run as the lead back for Carolina, rolling up 594 total yards and four touchdowns.

This week he’ll face a Buccaneers defense that has yet to allow a 100-yard rusher this season. The most rushing yards they’ve allowed to an opposing running back this season was 59 to CMC back in Week 2. However, they are vulnerable to touchdowns, surrendering seven on the ground and two in the air, including a pair to CMC in that game. It’s a tough matchup, but Davis will get enough touches to make him a decent starter this week, with the potential for scoring.
