The second and third place teams in the AAC will duke it out on Saturday night when the No. 19 SMU Mustangs cross state lines to meet the Tulsa Golden Hurricane.

Sonny Dykes’ Mustangs continued to roll last Saturday, firebombing Temple for 27 fourth quarter points to pick up the 47-23 road victory. Veteran quarterback Shane Buechele was on point with a 300+ yard, four-touchdown day, and his receivers Kylen Granson and Tyler Page had a lot to do with it. The tandem combined for 15 receptions, 280 yards and three of those scores.

The last time Tulsa hit the field was on Friday, Oct. 30 where they defeated ECU 34-30 in controversial fashion. The Pirate defense had seemingly put the Golden Hurricane away on three separate occasions on the final drive before three separate ref calls allowed for Tulsa to be in a position to pull ahead on a one-yard T.K. Wilkerson touchdown with 27 seconds left in the ballgame.
