On Saturday afternoon the 3-3 UTEP Miners travel to take on its in-state rival, the UTSA Roadrunners.
Both teams are pretty evenly matched and are aiming to get above .500 on the year. UTSA averages 24 points per game, while UTEP gets about 20. The Miners’ defense allows 25 points per game, but the Roadrunners allow nearly 28. The teams both average around the same number of total yards allowed and gained as well. The one big discrepancy between the two teams is in the rushing department. UTSA’s ground game is about 50 yards better on average than the Miners’. But UTEP’s run defense is very good, allowing just over 100 yards each game, and that’s the battle where this game is going to have to be won.
UTSA running back Sincere McCormick is averaging over five yards per carry and has seven scores on the year. Quarterback Frank Harris can also rush a good amount, with 264 yards and five scores on the ground. The UTEP defense will need to minimize Harris and his 4.3 yards per carry on the ground to come out with a win.
But even if they can’t, this game should still be very close.

The Best Bet
This should be a tight game, as both teams are pretty even in almost every major statistical category. UTEP has had its last two games either canceled or pushed back because of COVID-19 reasons, so they might come out rusty. For that reason, take the UTSA ML.
Pick: UTSA -250
