Final injury report
Out: Taiwan Jones (hamstring), David Johnson (concussion), Devine Ozigbo (hamstring), Justin Jackson (knee), Devonta Freeman (ankle), Tevin Coleman (knee), Reggie Bonnafon (ankle), Christian McCaffrey (shoulder)
Doubtful: Joe Mixon (foot)
Questionable: Mark Ingram (ankle), Damien Harris (ankle, chest), Kenyan Drake (ankle), Anthony McFarland (illness), Troymaine Pope (neck), Matt Breida (hamstring), Dwayne Washington (back), Chris Carson (foot), Carlos Hyde (hamstring)
Thursday injury report
Justin Jackson remains sidelined and at this point it seems unlikely he’ll play this weekend. Similarly, Joe Mixon and Chris Carson were both DNPs for a second straight day. They get one more practice to get right, but both seem unlikely to play.
The most notable changes involved Mark Ingram, Miles Sanders, and Antonio Gibson. Ingram was a DNP on Thursday after being limited on Wednesday which is not the kind of trend you want to see. On the other hand, Gibson was a full participant after sitting out Wednesday and Sanders was full after a limited Wednesday. Those are good trends.
DNP: David Johnson (concussion), Devine Ozigbo (hamstring), Mark Ingram (ankle), Joe Mixon (foot), Tevin Coleman (knee), Chris Carson (foot), Carlos Hyde (hamstring), Christian McCaffrey (shoulder), David Montgomery (concussion), Justin Jackson (knee)
Limited: Damien Harris (ankle, chest), Taiwan Jones (hamstring), Alec Ingold (ribs), Kenyan Drake (ankle), Matt Breida (hamstring), Devonta Freeman (ankle), Dwayne Washington (back), Kenyan Drake (ankle).
Full: T.J. Yeldon (back), Samaje Perine (knee), Tyler Ervin (wrist), Aaron Jones (calf), Patrick Laird (ankle), Miles Sanders (knee), DeeJay Dallas (forearm, wrist), Travis Homer (knee), Antonio Gibson (shoulder)
Wednesday injury report
Raheem Mostert (still on IR) and Christian McCaffrey have both already been ruled out for Week 10. JaMycal Hasty and Jerick McKinnon will split work for the 49ers, while Mike Davis will return to the starting role for the Panthers.
Justin Jackson is expected to rest much of this week and Anthony Lynn said a decision will be made later this week. He seems fairly unlikely to play due to his knee injury and I suspect we’ll get a firm answer on Friday. Kalen Ballage emerged ahead of Joshua Kelley last weekend against the Raiders.
The rest of the DNPs are unclear and Thursday will give us a better idea. That being said, Joe Mixon not practicing coming out of the bye does not bode well for him playing on Sunday.
DNP: Taiwan Jones (hamstring), Joe Mixon (foot), David Johnson (concussion), Christian McCaffrey (shoulder), Antonio Gibson (shoulder), Chris Carson (foot), Carlos Hyde (hamstring), Darrell Henderson (quadricep), Justin Jackson (knee)
Limited: Mark Ingram (ankle), Kenyan Drake (ankle), Matt Breida (hamstring), Devonta Freeman (ankle), Reggie Bonnafon (ankle), Miles Sanders (knee)
Full: T.J. Yeldon (back), Samaje Perine (knee), Tyler Ervin (wrist), Aaron Jones (calf), Patrick Laird (ankle), DeeJay Dallas (forearm, wrist), Travis Homer (knee)
The gang is back together, guys... almost. Dalvin Cook, Christian McCaffrey and Josh Jacobs all finished as top-10 performers this week. 2020’s top-end RB picks are finally at it — just in time to get fantasy managers into the running for a playoff berth.
Dalvin Cook continues to steal the show, leading the league with 858 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns through seven games. He’s been a big-play factory, and running the Vikings offense through him has proven to work. The Vikings have walked away with the “W” in three of their last four outings.
Some Week 9 disappointments include Ezekiel Elliott, who entered this matchup versus the Steelers as questionable with a hamstring injury. He finished the day with just 6.9 fantasy points in standard scoring formats — his fourth game of the season with 7 or fewer points in standard scoring formats.
Other performances worth noting moving forward include another game with a score for Zack Moss, an abundance of touches for Jordan Wilkins and Wayne Gallman, who has looked fantastic leading the Giants backfield in the absence of Devonta Freeman.
Injury news
Fantasy managers will want to keep an eye on several running backs looking to return from injury this week.
The most exciting injury update of the week was the return of 2020’s 1.01 fantasy football draft pick — Christian McCaffrey. He totaled 28 touches in his first game back from an ankle injury, playing 71% of offensive snaps and posting 151 yards and two TDs from scrimmage. Unfortunately, he wound up leaving this game prematurely with a rib injury. His status for Week 10 is up in the air.
Browns RB Nick Chubb has been designated by the team to return, though he has yet to be formally activated from IR. The team indicates that he’ll practice this week in hopes of returning in Sundays contest versus the Texans. Chubb has been out since Week 4 with an MCL injury (knee).
Mark Ingram was listed as doubtful on the Ravens final injury report for Week 9, but he wasn’t ruled out, leaving some hope for a return in Week 10. Ingram is recovering from a high ankle sprain, and his absence hasn’t affected much outside of further defining roles for Gus Edwards and rookie J.K. Dobbins.
The Seahawks will hope to have Chris Carson returning this week against the Rams, who has been out with a foot sprain since Week 7. His backup, Carlos Hyde, has also been out with a hamstring injury. Rookie DJ Dallas has tallied 97 total yards and three scores in Weeks 8 and 9, but he did lose a chunk of snaps to RB Alex Collins who was promoted from the practice squad.
Questions remain the the following backs heading into Week 10: Miles Sanders (knee), Joe Mixon (foot), Kenyan Drake (ankle), Matt Breida (hamstring), Devonta Freeman (ankle) and Raheem Mostert (ankle).
Other injuries to monitor through the week include Justin Jackson (knee) and David Johnson (concussion).
Week 10 byes
The Atlanta Falcons, Dallas Cowboys, Kansas City Chiefs and New York Jets are on bye in Week 10. Fantasy Managers will be without the touchdown-hungry Todd Gurley and disappointing Ezekiel Elliott. Clyde Edwards Helaire and Le’Veon Bell will get a rest, too — hopefully returning with some semblance of an established run game from Andy Reid. LaMichal Perine and veteran Frank Gore will also see

Ronald Jones II, Bucs
Riding the waves of the Bucs backfield may have you seasick by now. A matchup against the Panthers could be just the perfect antidote. Most recently on Monday Night Football, the Bucs didn’t exactly have time to key in on the run while Sean Payton and company ran up the score. The team finished the day with just four total rushing attempts. In short, if you played a Bucs RB, you may have lost your week. The Panthers have allowed nine RBs games of 10+ fantasy points — another week removed from the Great Fumble of 2020 and a friendly game script could be just what the doctor ordered for a Jones bounce back.
Melvin Gordon III, Broncos
The Raiders backfield started the season with three consecutive games of RBs scoring multiple touchdowns. They’ve since given up less on the ground, but it’s worth noting that they’ve played some of the league’s murky backfields in recent weeks, including the Bucs and Chargers. Gordon has been outshined by Phillip Lindsay in the big-play department, but he has out-touched him 21 touches to Lindsay’s 15. Gordon sees the Raiders next, who have allowed the fourth-most fantasy points to RBs in 2020.
