The opening line for the biggest game of Week 10 and potentially of the college football season is officially out. The No. 1 ranked Clemson Tigers are five-point favorites over the No. 4 ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish, per Circa Sports.
The Tigers staved off a potential upset by the Boston College Eagles on Saturday, defeating them 34-28. Clemson was without starting quarterback and Heisman Trophy candidate Trevor Lawrence, who tested positive for COVID-19. In his place, the Tigers turned to true freshman D.J. Uiagalelei, who had 30 completions on 41 pass attempts for 342 yards and two touchdowns. He also had a 30-yard rushing touchdown.
Uiagalelei will likely get the start next week versus Notre Dame as head coach Dabo Swinney said on Saturday that Lawrence will not play. In regards to the Fighting Irish, they are coming off of their second-game road victory, defeating the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 31-13. When the Irish take the Tigers, they will be looking for their five-consecutive home victory this season.
