Game status: Carson and Hyde are inactive, Homer is active for Week 8.
1 p.m. update: Jay Glazer is reporting the Seahawks will be without Chris Carson, Carlos Hyde, AND Travis Homer. DeeJay Dallas is the back to start vs. the 49ers if you need a running back.
Game day update: Chris Carson’s status is likely to come down to game time. He’s going to test out his foot in pre-game warmups, but is “a true 50-50” decision, according to Adam Schefter.
The Seattle Seahawks backfield is kind of a mess heading into their Week 8 game against the 49ers. Running back Chris Carson is dealing with a foot injury, and Carlos Hyde has a bum hamstring. Both will be game-time decisions, but of the two Hyde seems most unlikely to play. If both guys are out, that leaves Travis Homer and DeeJay Dallas to handle running back duties.
Fantasy Football analysis: Seahawks RBs Travis Homer, DeeJay Dallas
Homer is also dealing with an injury, but he is expected to be available this week. He and Dallas were teammates in college, in Miami. If Carson and Hyde are both out of action, Homer looks like he would get a little more work, especially as a runner, and Dallas would mix in more on passing downs. He’s already been working some on third downs. That equation is definitely subject to change given how much the Seahawks have been prone to mixing things up with running backs in the past. It might be best to avoid Seattle’s running backs this week given the uncertainty.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Sit Travis Homer and DeeJay Dallas.
