What to do with Sterling Shepard, Golden Tate, Darius Slayton in Week 8 fantasy football

We go over Sterling Shepard, Golden Tate, Darius Slayton’s fantasy football outlook ahead of the Giants Week 8 matchup against the Bucs on Monday Night Football.

There are few bright spots to be found in the struggling New York Giants offense. However, the team’s trio of wide receivers gets enough work, especially with the team chasing points so often, that there are some important fantasy implications to go over ahead of this week’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Fantasy Football analysis: Giants WRs Sterling Shepard, Golden Tate, Darius Slayton

Shepard returned to action last week, after four weeks on the sideline with a toe injury. He was far and away the target leader among this trio, getting eight looks from Daniel Jones and catching six passes for 59 yard and a touchdown. With Shepard back in the lineup, Slayton saw just three targets, and Tate had two. The later did manage to catch one of them for a 39-yard score, but you can’t count on that kind of production on a regular basis.

A bigger problem for this group in Week 8 is that they’ll face the league’s best defense, according to Football Outsiders. The Bucs are going to make life difficult for the Giants offense, and they won’t be helped much with Daniel Jones struggling not to turn over the ball.

Of the three receivers, Shepard is the only viable fantasy play this week, mostly because of volume.

Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation

Start Sterling Shepard. Sit Golden Tate and Darius Slayton.
