The LA Rams edged out the Chicago Bears in Week 7 as Jared Goff threw for 219 yards and two touchdowns, while Malcolm Brown added the third TD to cement the win. But as the Rams head on the road to face the Miami Dolphins who have the league’s 2nd-best defense, they’ll have some hurdles to overcome with their offensive options.
Fantasy Football analysis: Rams WRs Cooper Kupp, Robert Woods, Josh Reynolds
Reynolds was LA’s WR1 last week in the win over Chicago going 4-for-8, 52 yards and a touchdown, but his usage hasn’t been reliable enough all season to count on him for a fantasy team. This was his second-highest single-game yard total of the season, his highest being 60 yards in Week 3 against Buffalo. Woods didn’t do much last week against the Bears, as he caught 3-of-5 for 22 yards, and added a fumble late in the game that the Bears easily grabbed and ran in for a touchdown. Kupp’s targets were lower this week as Goff tried to spread them out among all the WRs, as he went 6-for-6 and 43 yards.
In Week 8, Woods will be going up against Xavien Howard who can be expected to stifle Woods’ performance, while Kupp will line up against Nik Needham who is among one of the lowest-graded slot corners in the league this season so far. Kupp and Woods would both be good options at WR2 and WR3 respectively, but don’t expect much out of Reynolds whose week-to-week production isn’t so reliable. Miami’s defense has also allowed the 10th fewest fantasy points to opposing QBs this season as well as the 2nd fewest throwing TDs, so Goff will have his work cut out for him in the air.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Start Cooper Kupp at WR2, start Robert Woods at WR3, sit Josh Reynolds.
