What to do with Myles Gaskin, Matt Breida in Week 8 fantasy football

We go over Myles Gaskin, Matt Breida’s fantasy football outlook ahead of the Dolphins Week 8 matchup against the Rams.

The top question on the mind of every Miami Dolphins fan this week is obvious: How will Tua Tagovailoa look in his first career start? Fantasy owners should feel free to ask another question: What will Miami’s running game look like with Tua under center? Myles Gaskin and Matt Breida will try to provide answers against the Los Angeles Rams.

Fantasy Football analysis: Dolphins RBs Myles Gaskin, Matt Breida

Last we saw Gaskin in Week 6, he was in clear control of the Dolphins’ backfield. He has averaged close to 21 touches per game over Miami’s last four contests and has out-snapped Breida by at least a 2-to-1 margin every week. He’s also dominating in carries (82-33) and receptions (27-7). That dual-threat role has helped Gaskin record at least 14 fantasy points in four of the past five games. The only portion of Gaskin’s fantasy profile that’s lacking is his TD total; he has just one score. The Rams have allowed just three RB touchdowns so far, but they have been fairly amenable to receiving backs. L.A. has given up the eighth-most receiving yards and the eighth-most receptions to opposing RBs.

Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation

It’s frankly impossible to predict how this backfield will change, if at all, with Tua running the show. All we can go on is what Breida has done so far, and that’s been good enough to make him an RB2 this week. He costs $5,200 on DraftKings. Breida continues to not be worth your time.
