The Vikings have had two weeks to contemplate where they went wrong in their Week 6 loss to the Falcons. In that matchup, Kirk Cousins completed 24 of 36 passes for 343 yards and three touchdowns. At first glance that seems to be a fantastic stat line, however Cousins’ day was marred by three interceptions and the Vikings fell 40-23 when all was said and done. Will Cousins and the rest of the team bounce back against a tough Green Bay team in Week 8? We break down the fantasy analysis below.
Fantasy Football analysis: Vikings QB Kirk Cousins
Kirk Cousins is currently the 24th ranked fantasy quarterback this season, averaging 15.4 points per game. He faces off against a tough Packers secondary this weekend and the wind gusts that are predicted in Green Bay on Sunday are not going to do him any favors. The Packers allow an average of 240 passing yards per game and have given up 11 passing touchdowns so far this season. Green Bay starting CB Kevin King did not participate in practice at all this week as of Thursday due to a quad injury, so his status is worth monitoring. If he were out it would provide Cousins with a small boost, but it’s still not an ideal matchup either way. Cousins is worth consideration as a starter in deeper leagues, 2 QB leagues, and bye week binds, but otherwise he can remain on the bench this week.
