What to do with T.Y. Hilton, Zach Pascal, Marcus Johnson in Week 8 fantasy football

We go over T.Y. Hilton, Zach Pascal, Marcus Johnson’s fantasy football outlook ahead of the Colts Week 8 matchup against the Lions.

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Only four teams have thrown fewer touchdown passes than the Indianapolis Colts this year, but at 4-2, we shouldn’t expect the Colts to have overhauled their offense during their Week 7 bye. That probably means wideouts such as T.Y. Hilton, Zach Pascal and Marcus Johnson will continue to be consistently inconsistent. They will face the Detroit Lions this Sunday.

Fantasy Football analysis: Colts WRs T.Y. Hilton, Zach Pascal, Marcus Johnson

Hilton was very worthwhile in fantasy from 2012-18. But in his last 16 games, he has just 743 receiving yards and five scores. His yards-per-catch average has dropped precipitously, and Philip Rivers just doesn’t have the arm strength to reach Hilton on those deep shots that used to be the WR’s calling card with Andrew Luck. This year, Hilton has just one game with more than 60 yards or four catches, and he hasn’t scored yet.

Pascal has reached the end zone twice, but he is a very low-ceiling player who needs volume to put up big numbers. Unfortunately, his season-high for catches in a game is four, so he hasn’t reached even 60 receiving yards yet. Johnson did something in Week 6 that neither Hilton nor Pascal has done thus far as he reached triple digits against the Bengals, finishing with a 5-108-0 line. The Lions present an above-average matchup for opposing wide receivers, but will the Colts be able to take full advantage of the good matchup given Rivers’ limitations and their reliance on their running game? We really haven’t seen that happen yet.

Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation

Hilton is going to have a big game at some point this year... but fantasy managers should wait to see it first. Even at $4,900, he’s not worth it right now. Pascal ($4,500) and Johnson ($3,000) are punt options in DFS, but not particularly exciting ones.
